Appearance Grades

MODERN CRAFTSMAN is our finest grade, appropriate for wherever a refined, upscale look is sought, allows occasional small tight natural features.

 NATURAL CHARACTER  highlights the structurally sound natural features of the wood, knots no larger than 2” in diameter &  fillable holes

RUSTIC GRADE gets us the longest lengths possible, includes distinct natural featues of all sizes with visible checks and voids as long as structurally sound.

• Engineered Pre-finished

  A solid slab of 3/16" (4.5 mm) hardwood mounted to furniture grade multi-ply birch.  3/4" final thickness.  Our GM Flooring Oil is a natural, zero VOC finish providing a subtle sheen, easy to maintain & very durable surface that brings out the luster and beauty of the wood without the "glazed" look of most factory finished floors.  Click for more about pre-finished floors.

• Solid Un-Finished

  Our traditional 3/4" thick solid wood, sand and finish on site floor. Square edges (no micro-bevel) means a good old fashioned seamless floor they way they were made for centuries.  Extra Long lengths means fewer seams and longer runs for a less "bricky" appearance. Click here for more info...
